The "Hats Off to Books" bookclub is a group of women in the San Francisco East Bay who meet monthly to share a love of books, food, and friendship. We have been meeting since 1989 and have become an important part of each other's lives.
Our association with hats began when we used a hatbox to store our SASE envelopes during the early years.
We mostly read contemporary fiction. We try to select books that are discussable and not just a story that makes us feel good. Some of our best meetings have been books that spawned a variety of opinions and viewpoints. Look at our Books page to see the titles of books we have read and some of our discussion about those books.
